Unwavering Commitment to Foster Dogs – Club Barks Fosters its 250th Rescue Dog!

West Paterson NJ, May 13, 2008 – Club Barks – the perfect get-away for
dogs –  is proud to announce its 250th foster dog! Since opening in October
2005, Club Barks has fostered Husky House, Eleventh Hour, Garden State
German Sheppard Rescue, FOWA, Boston Terrier Rescue, START II, and
Boxer Rescue dogs at its 9000+ sq. foot facility. Once dogs are screened
and meet all health requirements, they can play, socialize and exercise at
the cage-less daycare and boarding facility. More importantly, these foster
dogs get a good opportunity to meet interested potential adoptive parents.
Club Barks often acts as a rendezvous point for meet and greets between
dogs in need of homes and potential adoptive families.

“It’s been such a great relationship. Club Barks treats our dogs like their
own and provide them a great interim home,” said Lorraine Healy, Founder
of The Husky House (www.huskyhouse.org). “They have been such a great
supporter, extending our exposure to the community by not only caring for
our dogs, but hosting events and fundraisers at their facility.” Club Barks to
date has hosted Adoption Days, Photos with Santa Claws, Valentines and Easter picture fundraisers.

Huskies are not the only lucky dogs assisted by Club Barks. Eleventh Hour Rescue (www.ehrdogs.org) also sends some of its dogs to Club Barks. Dogs now in good homes have ranged from all types – small, medium, large, and all kinds of mixed breeds. “When we cannot find available foster parents for our dogs, I know I can put my trust in Club Barks to take great care of our dogs,” said Mary Parente, long time volunteer of Eleventh Hour Rescue. “We appreciate how they care for our dogs. As busy as they get, they always take the time to pass on important information to our handlers prior to showing dogs at an event. This way our reps can give potential adoptive parents a full profile of the dog they are interested in. It’s a great benefit to have such detailed info; it really assists with educating the interested parties to see if it’s a fit.”

The 250th dog’s name is Poncho, a Sharpie/Doberman/Blood Hound mix which was rescued by Husky House with several of his siblings.  Two of Poncho’s siblings are also being fostered by Club Barks.  You can see pictures of all Club Barks foster dogs on their website www.clubbarks.com under the Social Responsibility page.

“It’s a great day when we can say goodbye to our fosters.” said Elise Anatro, Manager of Operations and co-owner of Club Barks. “We are happy to partner with Husky House, Eleventh Hour and all of the other rescue organizations, and hope to see all the rescues in good homes.”

“It’s important to us as a business to give back to the community,” says Steve Anatro, Manager of Business Development and Marketing and co-owner of Club Barks, “People have been so welcoming and receptive to us since we’ve opened and this is the perfect way to reciprocate; to see new families and their new dogs happy together – we couldn’t ask for anything more.”
